3 Tips for Selling Your Customers DIY Hidden Cameras

While hidden camera designers can be very inventive when hiding a video camera inside a household object, they may not be as imaginative as a DIYer! Read up on our tips for showing off a hidden camera to the DIY audience:

• Make sure the DIY customer knows about the battery life of the camera if applicable and how placement might affect that. High traffic areas will run down battery life causing disappointment for the uninformed DIY customer.

• Educate the DIY customer about the difference between a stand alone DVR and a wi-fi camera. When the customer buys a hidden camera kit to “reverse engineer” an object in their home they may NOT think about how easy it is to go back and retrieve the recorded footage. Explain that a DVR hidden camera captures hidden video on an onboard memory card. While there is no need to set up this stand-alone DVR camera onto a household wi-fi network the customer also will not be able to view the footage remotely or retrieve it without returning to where the camera is placed. A wi-fi enable hidden video camera will allow the user to view the footage remotely possibly making returning for the camera irrelevant.

• Encourage the DIY hidden camera customer to be creative! Think about objects peculiar to their office or home that would work as good hidden video decoys. Are they concerned about neglect at their doggie day spa? Then consider adding a pinhole hidden camera to a food bowl or dog treat container. Do they run a skating rink or arcade and suspect some skaters have figured out how to hack the change machine? Then a DIY project placing a hidden camera in an arcade prize might be the ticket to changing that bad behavior.

Understanding the limits and benefits of a hidden camera along with creating a camera unique to the space it is monitoring are key steps to a successful DIY undercover operation.

5 Simple Steps to Protect Your Car from Theft or Vandalism

As the mercury in the thermometer climbs it seems like reports of petty crimes involving vehicles climb with it. It's also the time of year when the summer rush causes us to forget the most basic common sense approach to keeping our car and items inside safe. But all it takes is a few minutes to stop and think about these 5 ways to keep your car safe and not start your summer off with a police report:

1. Lock the doors. If you don’t have a keychain remote with a convenient button that locks all the doors just take the time to check. Also make sure your sun roof, moon roof, and windows are rolled up and closed. Don't make it easy to reach into an unlocked car and take a handful of CDS, a Bluetooth speaker or even a handful of change. Even if you run into a store for just two seconds, leaving the car running or unlocked is asking for trouble. Although keyless entry makes your car a little more secure, in the event you forget all of this lock-it-up advice, invest in a GPS tracker. In the worst case scenario, you can track your car in real time until the police get there.

2. Keep valuables out of sight. Your GPS navigation unit is great, you may want to hold on to it. If it's a portable navigation system, place it in the glove box, center console or the trunk. The same goes for any item that is not mounted to something. Let's be honest, your purse is not safe tucked under the seat. It's safe in the locked trunk.

3. Park in well-lit areas. Even if you have to walk a little farther you should park where your car is safe. Petty thieves are looking for an easy target and a car sitting in a well lit area is not it. Good lighting also makes it easier for criminal activity to be recorded by nearby security cameras.

4. Don't advertise the nice stuff you keep in the car. Don't give your neighbors a chance to talk about your new stereo system by playing it loudly. You never know who might be listening. The same goes for advertising the kind of phone you have by placing its logo on your back window. You might as well say, “yep, I have an expensive phone, want to take a look?”

5. Put a hidden camera in or near your car. This way even if someone does break in you will have a video record of it. Hidden cameras like the Cell Phone Holder Camera are less likely to be stolen. It looks like a typical, cheap, dash-mounted plastic phone holder but it will capture the the person who decides to root around in your unlocked car. Another possibility is the Car Charger Hidden Camera. It's not only great for catching criminals who stop by your driveway at night it's also an easy way to find out if your mechanic really did swipe the change out of your console.

Is a Smart Phone App the same as a Detection Device?

Is a Smart Phone App the same as a Detection Device?
As the news cycle shows recent stories of spying threats in hotel rooms and rental houses many developers are touting smart phone apps as an option for scanning a space for hidden bugs or video cameras. But how effective are these apps? We took a look and discovered some key differences between common 'detection' apps and the average handheld detection device.

Magnetic Field Sensor
Most of the smart phone apps require your phone to have a magnetic field sensor or they will not work. The magnetic field sensor is similar to what is found in a stud finder or compass app and not all phones come equipped with it. Handheld detectors like a camera finder or an RF signal detector do not require any additional technology to work with the exception of batteries.

Detection from a distance
The smart phone apps did find hidden camera lens and RF signals but only when the user was really close to the hidden camera or hidden bug.  The camera lens detection option on the apps we tried caused the smart phone's light to flash slowly in order to reflect off of the hidden lens. The light from the phone managed to reflect on the lens when the distance between the hidden camera and the smart phone was closed to about 15 inches apart. Trying a basic handheld detection device like a Spy Finder or a Hidden Camera RF Detector the flashing LEDs on the detection devices picked up the hidden lens from about 15 feet away.

Sensitivity Adjustment
The smart phone apps did not offer much ability to change the sensitivity of detection. The magnetic field sensor did do a good job finding electronics but it found all of them. So a camera hidden in a picture was easy to locate. A camera hidden in a clock radio was masked by all the other electronics inside. Likewise, the apps that detected RF signals picked up signals for everything from a wireless mouse to the hidden video transmitter. Using a Wireless Camera Detector we were able to narrow the sensitivity and focus on areas that were most likely  to have a hidden camera or listening device.

Our Take Away
Smart phone apps are a viable solution for a one time scan of a very small, bare, space. But for even an average sized space, like a hotel room, it would take a fair amount of patience and time to scan the entire area. Even then a camera or hidden bug inside a clock or electronic device could be missed due to the interference from non spying electronics. For users traveling frequently or users concerned about spying outside of hidden camera or bugs such as GPS trackers, a handheld detection device could be a good investment.

How Our Choice of Cloud Servers Make Your Video Secure

How Our Choice of Cloud Servers
Make Your Video Secure

In a day and age where anything can be hacked within a few strokes of a keyboard, privacy and security are of the utmost importance when it comes to your information. In 2018 alone, there were hundreds of cyberattacks affecting hundreds of millions of people globally. As the leading pioneers in Hidden Surveillance and Security, we wanted to be able to provide an ultra-secure hidden surveillance cloud video recording system with a multi-layer password protection to hinder any chance of tampering. After years in the making, a few developers later, our vision for a cloud video recording system came to fruition. SG Home Cloud is the first covert video cloud system and proudly launched in August of 2018.

Building a data infrastructure on local servers is very expensive to start from scratch. It takes a lot of money, expertise, security, machines, housing and manpower to keep systems current and up to task that’s when a business has to decide what option is right for them. That’s why we and millions of others have cut costs and left that to cloud computing services hosted offsite and accessed through the internet. There are a lot of cloud solutions out there from foreign to domestic. The first thing we required was a domestic server that provided a powerful, flexible and secure cloud computing solution for everyone. Data breaches were a problem we found with foreign servers. Being in the industry we are, we’ve seen and sampled a lot of the smart home products that are made in China, such as thermostats, lock keypads, doorbells and cameras that are vulnerable to cyberattacks. These App based products are using foreign wireless or peer-to-peer networks that are easy to manipulate, expose your private information and gain access to your private networks.

The main five cloud platform solutions to choose from were, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud and Alibaba Cloud. We decided to go with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has been leading the way since 2004 in the Cloud Computing Industry and holds a 35% Market Share. While other companies have gotten into the game and are close in comparison, everyone’s requirements are different, their services don’t always provide the quality and flexibility you need for your organization. Amazon provides all encompassed web services to millions of clients including individuals, companies and governments worldwide. It’s easy to make adjustments to our infrastructure; we have the ability to upgrade or downgrade as needed to stay in the forefront of our industry and pay only for what we are using. This allows for us to provide an easy accessible and affordable cloud camera subscription without all the extra overhead costs. Amazon Web Services puts cloud security as its’ highest priority. Their data centers and network structure were built to meet the requirements of the most security-sensitive organizations such as the CIA, FBI and other foreign agencies and governments. In addition, the built in app multi-layer account protection in our App, Amazon Web Services hosting increases our defense of your protected data.

We wanted to build something that had an extra line of security for our app login, cameras and storage files to minimize the prospect of your information getting into the hands of cybercriminals. Your SG Home Cloud videos are stored with complete autonomy, no one is reviewing footage, unless you’ve shared access with another user your footage is for your eyes only, the servers only have a record of the usernames and history, and the actual footage is unavailable. If your subscription lapses or you discontinue service, all your stored cloud data is erased. We felt this would give our customers peace of mind, knowing you won’t have to worry about your information or videos exchanging hands.

5 Reasons to Choose Cloud Storage for your Hidden Cameras

5 Reasons to Choose Cloud Storage for your Hidden Cameras

KJB Security will soon be one of the first hidden camera manufacturers in the world to provide Cloud storage for video recording (CVR). We are thrilled to be pioneers of this new frontier! As a company we have proven our commitment over the years to providing the highest quality and most advanced hidden camera technology and innovation.

Here’s why you’ll want to sign up for this new Cloud storage solution for your Hidden Camera system as soon as it becomes available!

1. Cloud storage gives you easy access to your footage from anywhere in the world at any time.

Need to share covert video files quickly with your investigation team? Now you can have access to your footage from anywhere at any time and share it with anyone thanks to cloud storage. All you need is Wi-Fi to quickly and easily access your important security footage. And better yet… you can access live video footage from your phone or tablet with just a few taps.

2. Cloud storage protects your hidden camera footage from damage, loss, corruption.

There are many good reasons why SD card storage is a convenient storage solution. You can quickly and easily transport and share them. The downside to these convenient little files is that it’s a physical item. If anyone finds or takes it, your camera and the evidence is now gone. Not to mention, the physical property can be accidentally or intentionally destroyed or badly damaged often during transport or within the camera system. Cloud storage eliminates this risk by sending your footage directly to a safe and secure storage facility somewhere in the US.

3. Cloud storage makes hidden camera footage more secure.

Open up your browser to the latest news headline and chances are you’ll see the word hacker. Computer hackers are just waiting to terrorize your home computer or business IT system. Hackers have cost businesses billions in revenue year after year. According to this CNBC article 14 million US businesses are at risk of a hacker threat. Cloud storage provides a layer of protection and security for your highly valuable personal, business or investigative convert video files. Plus, our account based app creates a double layer of security. No one can see your recording without your password.

4. Cloud storage gives you more space for your security footage.

Hidden camera video footage can take up quite a bit of storage space. The hidden cameras send footage to the cloud every time motion is detected. Often corporate, private or police investigations can take months or years to complete. With cloud recording, you will be able to store more recordings than ever before. We will have a few storage options available to fit every budget. You choose the amount of data stored in the cloud when you choose your subscription plan.

5. KJB Security gives you 30 days of free storage.

That’s right. We’re giving you a chance to date your cloud storage before you put a ring on it… so to speak. We will still have the card storage option available for those who don’t feel like Cloud storage is the right solution (even after reading all the information above). But for those who are ready to go for it, we’re giving you 30 days of free storage!

Hopefully, after reading about the benefits of cloud recording, you’re now ready to sign up. Be the first to switch to the cloud for SG Home CVR Wi-Fi Hidden Cameras. With new technology comes new forms, with the new SG Home CVR line we have a bunch of new hidden cameras that will blend seamlessly into your environment. We promise… you will be the first to know it has arrived!

Women, Pioneers and Whistleblowers

Women, Pioneers and Whistleblowers

Women are pioneering the world of security and defining new ways to protect themselves. The world is changing and the feeling of privacy and safety along with it. Inspirational women are taking back the power to ensure other women can feel the same sense of security in their life. Here are some of the women and businesses making a difference, pushing the boundaries of the status quo and blowing the whistle on injustice.

1. Women make up half of the workforce, while they still shockingly only make up about 11% of cybersecurity jobs but that doesn’t stop them from seizing the opportunity to take on a high-profile role in the industry. Why are there still so few of them? Today women are continuing to push for progress in the male dominated field and represent a mix of researchers, chief information security officers, executives, and top government cyber security leaders. Women are making an impact all over the world in cybersecurity by empowering women with a Voice, Vision and Innovation. IBM hosts a global cyber day for girls every year to educate women of all ages about what cybersecurity is, how it’s rapidly affecting our world and what women can do to help change it. #IBMCyberDay4Girls
2. Hyphen-Labs is a young women of color collective made up of scientists, architects, engineers and designers from around the world who’ve brought fashion to the forefront of surveillance. The line was designed to protect those wearing it—focusing on women of color. The idea behind the body worn technology is to empower and protect women in the field, whether they’re activists, whistleblowers or just living their everyday life. Security is important, our identity is important. The prototype fashion wearables debuted at the 2017 South by Southwest Conference.

Some of the pieces highlighted were a pair of oversized “door knocker” earrings with hidden cameras and microphones used to record during any kind of altercation or unwanted interaction at the touch of a button.

The sun visor was made with reflective material to deflect any unwanted gazes and to protect the identity of the person wearing it.

The most innovative body worn counter surveillance piece was the pink and purple silk scarf. Hyphen-Labs partnered with Adam Harvey, an American artist living in Berlin to bring the HyperFace Scarf to life which camouflages the wearer from facial recognition software, the kind used by social media, online retailers, law enforcement and the military. The scarf’s fabric is designed with 1,200 pixelated faces meant to mislead computer algorithms.

The scarf was designed for women activists during protests. With enough people wearing it, it could break the system. Adam is now working with the collective to bring forth more innovative covert designs. Unfortunately, all of these products are prototypes and not out on the market, but we look forward to their fashionable body-worn counter surveillance gear.

3. More than ever women are standing up and fighting for what’s right in the world we live in. Whistleblowing can be life-changing, life-defining and comes with a great personal risk for the individual, so know your rights. We have seen heroic whistleblowers wearing hidden cameras to uncover the dark truths of this world like sexual harassment in the #metoo movement. By sharing their story and speaking up, they are exposing the cultural bias that will change our society - and hopefully for the better.
With a female executive at the helm, KJB Security salutes women who have pushed boundaries to increase safety for everyone. We may not be on the front line with these women but we can certainly be counted on to provide reliable covert surveillance equipment to help them make an impact.

Love Lost: KJB Security’s Guide To Catching A Cheating Spouse Guide

The partner you pledged your love to all those years ago is working late...again. You have this uncomfortable feeling deep inside that you don’t want to admit could be true. Unfortunately, the intuition that your spouse may be cheating is something you should pay attention to.

Adultery, affair, cheating, infidelity… there are many ways we label this sad and often devastating relationship situation. It’s still a common occurrence in the US and around the world. According to this Business Insider article, in a 2015 study published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, university students estimated that the average person of the opposite sex has about a 42% chance of cheating on their partner.

Many people have been down this powerless and scary path. It’s time to take back your power. We believe you can feel more empowered and informed by using a few security devices to uncover the truth, move through the process and safely into your next steps

Here are some security solutions to help you determine if your gut feeling is true, to help you heal and move forward in your new single life… securely.

Getting confirmation

SG Home hidden cameras can help you confirm that gut feeling you’ve had for a while. Our hidden cameras fit right into the surroundings of your home, business or vehicle. Here are a few we recommend:

Our DVR Car Charger Hidden Camera is the perfect device for covert surveillance in your vehicle.

Give your cheating spouse a new plant for the office. With this unsuspecting plant camera, they will never guess that someone is watching from miles away. This camera is fully equipped with our SG Home Wi-Fi camera system and uses our free SG Home App. Get alerts if the camera senses any activity or you can watch live video on your phone or tablet anytime you need to check in.

The idea that your spouse may be doing the deed in your own home is unthinkable. But unfortunately, it happens. That’s where our best selling SG Home smoke detector with Wi-Fi can come in handy in your quest for confirmation. Using the SG Home free app and Wi-Fi you can virtually access live video from anywhere on your smartphone or tablet.

Suspect you’re being watched?

Once you’ve determined you don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who cheats, the process to detangle begins. The divorce process can get messy and bring about levels of distrust you’ve never seen before. In fact, YOU could become the one who’s being monitored. KJB Security has DIY and professional level counter-detection devices to help you determine if this is happening. Here are a couple we recommend:

Camera Finder with RF Detector- Need to find a hidden camera? This easy-to-use and inexpensive little spy finder device will do the job.

iProtect RF Wireless Signal Detector Wand - This detection wand easily fits in your hand to conceal action while sweeping for bugs of different types. Use this handy device for more sophisticated DIY detection.

Tools for Collecting evidence

Our Super Slim Pen Voice Recorder can come in handy (in many ways) when building your case against a cheating spouse. The world's slimmest pen voice recorder comes with a secret activation switch and a very sensitive internal microphone to capture even the faintest of sounds. Use the voice recorder pen to take notes in meetings with attorneys, save your friend’s advice or to make notes to yourself when needed. We’re sure you can come up with even more ways to use this handy covert digital voice recording pen.

Staying safe on the other side of relationship

You’ve finalized your permanent separation or divorce from your cheating spouse or partner and are now learning how to do life alone again… at least for a while. You’re determined to heal and find happiness before taking the leap into another relationship.

Living alone can be a scary thought, especially if you’ve found yourself with the solo task of keeping your children safe. We have a few products to recommend for this time in your life. These products can give you the peace of mind and additional layer of security so you can relax and enjoy your new independent life.

Wi-Fi Smart Home Doorbell Camera- So you and/ or your children will never open the door to a stranger again.

DIY Smart Home Kit- Super quick and easy to set up, this smart-home kit is the perfect cost-effective security solution for your new home, apartment or condo. There are no monthly alarm monitoring fees as you can self-monitor with app notifications on your smartphone or tablet.

We hope these ideas will help you feel more empowered in your journey through the pain of infidelity and on the other side. We’re here to help you take back the power and securely find your way to happiness and healing on the other side! Let us know if you need any help finding the products mentioned above!

Dealer Tip: 10 Ways Print Marketing Can Work For You

Whether your website is beautiful and robust or simple and to the point, your site can’t do it all. Remember newspaper ads, magazine ads, direct mail pieces and flyers? The value of print marketing is not to be forgotten.  These days, a printed marketing piece is perceived as a gift by those who prefer to actually hold something in their hands. Here are 10 tips for creating and distributing marketing information:
  1. Don't just focus on advertising your products.  Provide information that will inform them on a relevant or timely topic.   Offer a printed "Hidden Camera Buying Guide" similar to this one from Ebay. Be sure to create your own.
  2.  To save money, only place ads in publications that target a very specific audience or community and partner with another business related to your industry.  For example, split an ad with a self-defense instructor.
  3. If you write a blog, carry that information over to a printed piece and hand it out at your store or print and mail it to a prospect list.
  4. Don't forget to promote your site on your printed materials.  Print and web are a beautiful partnership.
  5. Establish credibility. If you have something to "say", putting it in a professional printed pieces gives the perception that you are a credible professional.
  6. Be frugal when printing by using any of the hundreds of online printing companies like Vistaprint or Mimeo.
  7. Write handwritten notes. Yes! Studies show that a personalized note can increase response to a marketing campaign by 30-50%.
  8. Avoid getting overwhelmed by choices and goals.  Create a small print marketing plan for 90 days at a time.
  9. Stuck with what to say or how to say it? Research your competition to see what they are saying and read industry blogs.
  10. Don't copy content from other sources.  Create your own by thinking like a customer - what do they need to know?
Whether in person, via email or in an ad, telling people to visit your website is not enough.  Save them time and frustration by telling them exactly what part of your site to visit.  Better yet, dedicate one page or section of your site just to relevant statistics or FYI's and drive readers to that page first.  You will appear to be a knowledgeable resource rather than just another dealer:

Make the Most of Your Trade Show Visit

In the US, there are close to 12, 000 trade shows a year.  That’s a lot of networking, buying, learning, and let’s face it….partying. ISC West is less than 2 weeks away. It is the largest physical security show in North America featuring over 1,000 exhibitors in one place in just 3 days.
We have been busy planning for months.  As an attendee, you certainly don’t need months of planning, but a little strategy can’t hurt.  Here are some tips for making the most of your visit:
  •  Before the show, establish an initial contact with the key people you want to see.  Call or email to set up a formal introduction or a casual meet and greet in the booth.
  • Have a few questions and comments planned out in advance and prioritize them just in case you get cut off or miss the opportunity to ask your second question.
  • Don’t forget your business cards (a no-brainer, but it happens!) when meeting fellow attendees and exhibitors.
  • If you miss a product demonstration or a speech, ask the presenter if they plan to put the information on their websites or YouTube?  Not only will you get to see what you missed, but it is a perfect reason to establish a contact.
  • Introduce yourself, shake hands, and make eye contact.  You’ll be more likely to get invited to receptions or hospitality suites if you are memorable and positive.
  • Don’t indulge in that happy hour so much that you miss the next morning’s demonstrations! Hangovers are never fun and even less fun when you miss out on important, relevant information.
  • Keep your customer in mind.  Think about what sort of questions they will have and the  products that meet their needs (not just the cool gadgets we all love to see and use)
  • View the “My Show Planner” section of the ISC West website.   A MUST.

When you make the most of your trade show experience you will  walk away with product knowledge, connections, and confirmation that you belong to the rewarding industry of keeping people safe.  As with all trade shows, you might leave wishing you had met that one exhibitor or kept the business card of that guy (what’s his name).    We too will have our own list of lessons learned, what to do better next time and what worked well this time.   See you next year!

Sometimes Too Much Choice Is A Bad Thing

We all do it. We stand frozen in the grocery aisle overwhelmed by our choices. “Should I buy the whole wheat bread with fiber, the low fat honey wheat, the multigrain, plain white?” We stand there pondering and finally grab something so that we can simply move on. If toothpaste is next on your list, you should consider simply closing your eyes and pointing to a brand on the shelf. Not that some aren’t better than others, but even Proctor and Gamble’s director of global oral-care research and development stated, “We’ve come to realize that fewer is better.” The company (makers of Crest toothpaste) slowed down their production of oral-care products worldwide.

Fewer is better
An over-abundance of consumer options is not confined to bricks and mortar retailers; it’s a factor for internet shoppers as well. If your business is web based, you can and should be more picky about what “goes on your shelves.” Don’t clutter your site with any and every gadget or gizmo available. When you spend time reviewing and selecting the best product options to place on your site, look at it through the eyes of the buyer. If buyers have too many choices, they often make no choice at all. This study actually found that cutting product options by 75% resulted in more sales regardless of price.

Delete information overload
According to this study 'website navigation problems' and 'process was taking too long' are in the top 10 reasons shoppers abandon their cart. Fight information overload with these ideas:
  • Consider “landing pages"  to promote a specific product line or special. Landing pages are easy to set up within the confines of the site and are easy to promote well qualified, limited options to customers. Landing pages also give online businesses the ability to test market certain products to see what is attractive to shoppers.
  • Differentiate products but don’t go crazy. For example, when delineating Zone Shield® products use phrases like EASY TO SET UP or BATTERY OPERATED for Xtreme Life™. These phrases are easy to understand and set the product apart - but you can't use it on every other hidden camera on your page or it means nothing.
  • Give top listing to products that do the most. Do your buyers have to wade through pages of hidden cameras that may be cheaper but also do less? If they have to decide which features they want on their camera then you are using up their patience and maybe losing your sale. Instead present your customer with the product that does the most. Think about that toothpaste aisle again - the whitening, brightening,  straightening, tartar busting, gum disease fighting super hero toothpaste is always right at eye level.
  • List first the products that do the most for you. If your profit margin is higher or a returns lower on a specific model then throw down a bright shiny red carpet for your customer to stroll up and buy it. In the end time is money for both you and your customer. The less time they spend shopping for a good product or that you spend supporting their purchase the better the experience is for everyone.

The Honest Reviews calls the Zone Shield Night Vision Clock Radio DVR “a great product”

Tech expert Tony Tran with The Honest Reviews recently reviewed our new Zone Shield Night Vision Clock Radio DVR and we’re pleased that he rated the camera four out of five stars – and even higher on the design and ease of use. We’ve pulled out a few excerpts from the review below.

Here’s what Tony had to say about the design:
“The clock radio is light and the design is very stylish which makes it great to look at. It feels and weight similar to my real alarm clock, so there is no way to tell that it’s a hidden camera unless you open it up and look inside.”

And the video quality:
“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the video in complete darkness. You can even read some of the text on the box shown in the image”

Screen capture from video in a well lit room.
Screen capture from video with Night Vision working in total darkness.

Tony’s final thoughts:
“Overall, the Zone Shield Night Vision Clock Radio DVR is a great product as it was easy to setup, easy to use, very stylish design, and comes with a lot of features.  KJB’s newly designed Zone Shield® Night Vision Clock Radio DVR was the result of repeated attempts to provide a reliable clock radio DVR that would not have to be tweaked, fitted, or modified. Years in the making, working with products off the shelf of Walmart, and several visits to China still had not resulted in what KJB considers to be an acceptable surveillance device. We finally determined that a retrofitted product would just never be good enough.

Working with our partner in Taiwan, we designed the new clock radio specifically to fit a hidden camera and DVR or wireless transmitter. No more futzing with the inner wires or power supply, no more glue joints. Nothing to give away that the clock had been modified.

A wireless QUAD and QUAD LCD version
available in September, 2013
In this new design, the IRs are invisible, completely undetectable from the face of the clock and can capture action up to 20 feet away in almost total darkness. The SD card slot is completely hidden under something that looks like a normal part of a clock and is much easier to access. It’s hard to tell if we’ve designed a hidden camera to operate as a clock or a clock designed to operate as a hidden camera.

Clock radio DVRs are a dime a dozen. But the Zone Shield® Night Vision Clock Radio DVR is in a class by itself.

Night Vision At Work

Tell your customers that a Night Vision wall clock in a darkened office or conference room can clearly capture any suspicious behavior of a late night cleaning crew. Our extensive line of Night Vision products are available in both Zone Shield and Xtreme Life devices. As we stated in this blog, KJB goes to great lengths to make sure all our Night Vision products are capturing video in even the most challenging lighting situations. Whether it's a clock, smoke detector, or fan our hidden camera forms will blend into any small business or home environment.

The Night Vision wireless cameras in Xtreme Life and Zone Shield can be integrated into the same system. For example, if you started with a Zone Shield Night Vision Clock Radio in the conference room, then an Xtreme Life Night Vision Smoke Detector is a great addition to the office hallway.

Not every camera in a Night Vision system needs to be hidden. This Indoor/Outdoor Camera sports IRs and is a great addition as a third or fourth camera. Use it to monitor an entrance hallway or warehouse.

If you are a Dealer, download the IR symbol from our site to indicate that a product has night vision. No need for your customer to get overwhelmed by choices. If they are seeking a Night Vision product, the IR symbol will help to quickly identify the best device for them.

A Long Life Battery Makes All The Difference In Security

Xtreme Life Teddy Bear available
either wireless or with a built in DVR
Hardly a day goes by without hearing the words, “Caught on Camera.” News stories from around the world report on surveillance and hidden cameras capturing lightweight crooks and dangerous criminals. Maybe the perpetrator you catch on camera won’t make national news, but the security and peace of mind provided by your personal surveillance equipment is equally if not more important to you.

Proper surveillance should allow you to install it, trust it, and forget about it. That’s why powerful long life batteries and no visible wires come standard in Xtreme Life devices. Seconds count when capturing criminals in the act. Make sure your covert devices are equipped with a state-of-the-art PIR sensor. This lightning speed sensor kicks in to action the moment body heat is detected and therefore extends the life of the batteries.

Wall clocks, smoke detectors and teddy bears are common household items but when equipped with hidden cameras, they are transformed in to possible life saving surveillance devices. Many models are capable of recording in complete darkness with (IR) Night Vision cameras. A wall clock  in your home or office is as covert as it gets. Place it anywhere and capture a nanny, house-keeper or robber stealing valuables or endangering your family. A smoke detector placed above an entry way or over a cash register is not only impossible to detect but easy to install. A teddy bear can be both cuddly and covert when equipped with an Xtreme Life DVR. Set the bear anywhere in your home and decide how and when to view the captured footage.

Many Xtreme Life hidden camera systems offer the option of remote viewing from your iPad or smart phone. Simply download this free EZ-See app and experience yet another way to monitor your home or office.

KJB offers a bottom view and side view
smoke detector, both with Night Vision

Utilizing a QUAD LCD receiver allows you to record on up to 4 cameras and monitor remotely. LCD models offer the convenience of monitoring from a different room in your home on the included 7’ LCD screen.
